The elite of Manbij’s women expressed their rejection of any military operation by Turkey on Manbij and Tal Rifaat, affirmed their support for the Syrian Democratic Forces and they emphasized that the military operation is a flagrant attack on the sovereignty of the Syrian territories and a consolidation of the occupation.
That was during a meeting held by the Syrian Democratic Council today, on Thursday, with a group of figures, women’s activities, intellectuals, activists and representatives of civil society organizations from the city and its countryside in one of the halls in the center of the city of Manbij in northern Syria.
That meeting was under the title “Discussion of Turkish threats and attacks on the Autonomous Administration areas and their impact on the path of the political resolution”.
The meeting was attended by Amina Omar, the Co-Chairwoman of the Syrian Democratic Council, in which she discussed the latest political developments on the international and regional arenas and the Turkish continuous threats for a military operation on Syria, especially the areas of Manbij and Tal Rifaat.
“The Turkish threat does not target northern and eastern Syria or a specific component, but rather targets Syria in general, and defending for Syria is a patriotic duty.” She said.
Regarding the international and popular positions rejecting the Turkish military operation that hinders the peaceful political resolution for the Syrian crisis and the activities of the Syrian Democratic Council at home and abroad. “Our diplomatic efforts are continuing and we are witnessing an international and popular position rejecting the occupation, war and Turkish claims on the safe area.” Omar continued.
Omar also noted that the situation today is different from 2019, and the military operations will have catastrophic results on the people and society and will lead to the revival of ISIS. “The positive thing is our position today is stronger, but any aggression by using the military machines will causes war fronts and creates popular resistance.” She mentioned.
For her part, Amal Dada, a member of the Relations Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council, emphasized the role of women and the women of Manbij and the promotion of their participation more.
“We believe that women are the safety in societies. We held that meeting and explained that the democratic project eliminates authoritarian and totalitarian regimes.” Amal Dada said.
In turn, the women participants spoke about standing together for facing the special war directed against their regions and also, they talked about their insistence on the resistance, and that Turkey seeks to achieve gains at the expense of the Syrian people, and the regime must assume its responsibilities by neutralizing disputes and working in a more patriotic manner.
