The SDC holds an expanded meeting in Kobani

Today, on Wednesday, the Syrian Democratic Council held an expanded meeting in the city of Kobani, in one of the city’s halls, to discuss the Turkish attacks and threats against the Autonomous Administration areas and their impact on the path of the political solution.

That was in the presence of a great crowd of dignitaries, elders, intellectuals, political figures, community, administrative and military activists from the city and its countryside and at the level of the Euphrates region in general. The meeting was begun with a speech by Hassan Muhammad Ali, the Chairman of the Relations Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council, by talking about the global situation and international arrangements, explaining that the regions of north and east Syria by their politicians, their will and the sacrifices of their youth, they as all liberated the regions, established the administration, and were able to achieve a balance of powers despite the conflicts and challenges.

“We dealt with a balanced policy with all powers and now, we look at the threats seriously, and that is why we try to change the equation. Despite all that Turkey has and try to do it, there is an international rejection of these threats, and so far, there is no agreement for the renewed Ottoman ambitions.” Regarding the Turkish threats, Muhammad Ali indicated.

“Our position today is stronger than it was in 2019, and what Turkey seeks in the safe zone is to repeat the experience of the occupation, as happened in Alexandretta Brigade,” and it is as Turkey’s attempt to exploit its position between the West and Russia and emerging from its internal crises by launching wars and attacks outside its territory and also by obstructing the resolution in Syria.” He added.

“We have contacts with European and American countries, in addition to the Arab countries. Therefore, there were an international position and an Arab solidarity against Turkish threats and even there was the formation of an international public opinion against any offensive action, which constitutes a pressure and a deterrence.” With regard to diplomatic efforts, Muhammad Ali stated.

In conclusion, the attendees participated and expressed their rejection of the Turkish army, the occupation of their areas and the displacement of their people. The attendees stressed the necessity of providing the means to respond to the false propaganda campaign and the Turkish slander, as well as they focused on the necessity of national cohesion among all groups of society, and each person should play his leading role in building the new Syria with its democratic project against the occupation and exclusionary projects.
