MSDThe Women’s Bureau in cooperation with the Relations Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council held a workshop for a number of women members of political parties working in the city of Raqqa today in its center in the city.
The workshop was entitled “The Importance of Women’s Participation in Politics” and according to the preparatory committee, it aims to empower women politically, especially women working within this framework. The workshop was divided into two parts and several themes.
In the first half of the theme, Thubiya Al-Nasser, the administrator of the Women’s Bureau of the Syrian Democratic Council, addressed the importance of women’s participation in politics, its levels and positive results in which this participation affects on women and society.
Jiyan Mulla, a member of the Relations Bureau at the Syrian Democratic Council, also discussed the most important obstacles that prevent this process, which are various such as legal, social, cultural, political and even women’s own obstacles in which she discussed them with the female participants.
It is noteworthy that during the workshop, two written trainings were set and their items were discussed by female delegates from the two formed groups, and there were several proposals and measures to promote and empower women’s participation in politics.
