The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) held a dialogue session in partnership with the Kurdistan Green Party, under the title “Decentralization and the role of women in politics”, on Wednesday in the Reading Park in the city of Al-Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
During the first theme of the seminar, regarding decentralization, Rihab Joj, a member of the Women’s Bureau of the “SDC”, touched on the history of the emergence of decentralization and its importance for resolving the Syrian crisis.
Joj also presented the features of decentralization, explaining the difference between centralization and decentralization, the current situation in Syria and how Syria needs decentralization in building its future, and that the Syrian Democratic Council seeks to reach a decentralized, democratic and pluralistic Syria.
Meanwhile, the chairwoman of the Relations Bureau of the Kurdistan Green Party, Shirin Abbas, spoke about the political role of women in the Middle East in general and the distinctive role of women in northern and eastern Syria.
Abbas praised the women who challenged all obstacles they faced and that Kurdish women were the first in all fields to be the ideal for Arab women.
Abbas also concluded her second theme, stressing the need to preserve the gains of the women’s revolution in northern and eastern Syria to be a role model for Syria and the whole world.
