The Syrian Democratic Council

“During the current obstruction, it is necessary to activate the path of the Syrian dialogue” The Presidential Council said

The Presidential Council of the Syrian Democratic Council considered that it is necessary to activate “the intra-Syrian dialogue” and support the paths that are working to unite the opinions of Syrians after the obstruction of the Syrian issue internationally, and the Syrian file has been relegated from priority as a result of the conflicts and crises that the world is suffering from.

On Monday, November 7th, at its regular meeting in the city of Al-Hasakah in northeastern Syria, the Presidential Council discussed the overall international and regional political situation and its repercussions on the Syrian file and its paths.

The political components of the council unanimously agreed that resorting to dialogue and striving for peace is the easiest method to resolve all international and local issues and files, especially the ongoing war in Europe, Syria, and the entire Middle East region.

The attendees discussed the movement and mass protests in Iranian cities after the death of the Kurdish girl Gina Amini as a result of torture, which increased the tense internal conditions, especially with regard to the grievances against women, as her death represented an opportunity for the Iranian people to reject the internal reality in Iran, which suffers from many intellectual, social and economic crises.

The meeting assessed the Syrian political resolution and its paths locally, as it believed that most of the current paths of the Syrian file are stalled or on the verge of failure as a result of the intransigence of the parties to the conflict (the Syrian authority and parties of the opposition) and the absence of a serious international will to lead Syria and its people to safety.

As a result of the current obstruction, the collapse of resolutions and the failure of the known paths, the Presidential Council called for the adoption of national approaches based on “the intra-Syrian dialogues” which have made advanced steps in this path and are accepted by a wide spectrum of the Syrian people.

In accordance with that, the Presidential Council expressed its support for the path of Stockholm, and held a conference of Democratic Powers and Figures to consecrate the national resolution and strengthen the role of Syrians in resolving their issues away from exclusion and exclusivity.

The meeting also discussed the economic challenges imposed by the global high prices, along with the ongoing security threat, whether by terrorist organizations, or by the threat of the return of tyrannical authorities, especially after the launch of the security normalization process between Ankara and Damascus, as well as the ongoing Turkish threat, which does not stop targeting civilians and military personnel by its agents on the ground and by its drones.

The meeting also dealt with a general assessment of the meetings held by “the SDC” by its representatives and the Relations Bureau, with influential powers and the active diplomatic movement carried out by the Council, presenting the Syrian issue and discussing it with international actors in order to reach meaningful resolutions that end the crisis and achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people.

At the organizational level, the meeting discussed proposals to activate the bureaus and committees of the council in line with the nature and specificity of each region, in addition to discussing the membership applications received for the council.

The meeting resulted in a number of decisions which are as following:

– Support the path of Stockholm and the holding of the conference of Democratic Powers and Figures.
– Activating the internal dialogue among the components of the region.
– Developing the diplomatic side to serve the issue of the Syrian people.
– Preparation for the holding of the General Conference of the Syrian Democratic Council.
