The political parties in Raqqa express their solidarity with people of Jindires

Today, on Sunday, the political parties operating in Raqqa expressed their solidarity and support for what the civilians of the Jindires district of the Afrin region and those living in the camps were subjected to on the evening of the 20th of March, known as Nowruz, after they lit the flame of Nowruz.

That was during a protest prepared by the coordinators of the political parties operating in Raqqa, with the participation of a group of community activists and the people of Raqqa and its countryside, as they read a final statement.

The statement was begun by highlighting the five years of the occupation of Afrin by the Turkish-backed factions, the suffering and displacement of its people, and the crimes committed by the Turkish state and its mercenaries against the region and its people.

The statement stressed the process of systematic demographic change in that region and exposing the crimes and violations of the occupier, as it was mentioned in it as following: “The little flame of Nowruz dropped all their masks”. Despite the declaration by the United Nations General Assembly in 2010 that Nowruz Day is an international holiday, which is an upholding of the values of peace and tolerance.

“Turkey as an occupying power, as well as the Coalition as a political cover for the occupation, are responsible for this crime and other tragedies that occur in those areas.” The statement held the Turkish state and its allies responsible for this crime as it was mentioned.

The statement called on the international community and the Security Council to move quickly to end the Turkish occupation in Afrin, Girey Spi, Serkaniyeh and all of northern Syria.

In conclusion, the statement called on all segments of the Syrian people to escalate the struggle to end the Turkish occupation of the Syrian territories, to stand by the uprising of the people of Afrin, and to support their legitimate demands and the return of the displaced people of Afrin to their home.
