SDF affirms commitment to Syrian territorial unity… “The future of Syrian regions is interconnected and dependent on our institutions”- Mazloum Abdi

During the second National Unity Forum for Syrian Tribes and Components held in Hasakah city, the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, stated that “The future of Syrian regions is interconnected and can only be secured through the presence of our institutions”. On the other hand, the speeches emphasized the importance of Syria’s unity in terms of territories and people.

The participants in the Forum continues delivering speeches. Mazloum Abdi affirmed that there is no solution in Syria without recognizing the military and administrative institutions established by the people of North and East Syria.

Abdi discussed the negative role played by the Turkish occupier, which has been a primary cause in worsening the Syrian crisis. “Regional interventions are the main reason for worsening the Syrian crisis,” Abdi stated. Also, he stressed the necessity of ending all forms of occupation and ensuring the return of all displaced persons to their areas.

Regarding the fight against the terrorist Islamic State (ISIS), which continues to pose a threat, and receives a significant support by the Turkish occupation, Abdi pointed out that by stating “Our partnership with the International Coalition continues in the fight against ISIS.” He highlighted the challenges that emerge in their war against terrorism, including the Turkish occupation’s making of its occupied areas as a hotbed for the ISIS to reorganize its ranks.

“This pivotal stage requires to do our best to strengthen the national relations that unite us, to overcome difficulties, surpass obstacles and challenges we face. These objectives we seek to lead our people to safety, and to build a decentralized, democratic, and pluralistic Syria,” Hussein Othman, Co-chairman of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES), stated.

Othman continued his speech by stating “We pledge to you that we will continue on the path of building and developing our institutional work to achieve the democratic model of the DAANES. This will be achieved through the dissemination of culture, awareness, and democratic politics. We seek to strengthen the relationship between the DAANES and the community, and develop the experiences”.

“We will enhance our relations with the regional and international countries to reach partnerships within the framework of continuing to combat the intellectual ideology of terrorism in the region and to rehabilitate the infrastructure destroyed by wars. Together, we will work to preserve the unity and integrity of Syrian territory”, Othman emphasized.

Shiraz Hamo, a member of the Women’s Association at the Star Conference, called for the national dialogue to build a decentralized, pluralistic Syria. “Women have formed the fundamental pillar of the democratic state project,” Hamo stated.

Members of participating tribes continue to make speeches. The Forum is scheduled to be concluded with outcomes aimed at strengthening the bonds of love, peace, and brotherhood. It seeks to achieve unified visions and ideas, and to foster unity among all segments of society.
