The Syrian Democratic Council

Statement to confront aggression

Idlib is witnessing a fierce war that increases the sufferings of the Syrian people, and expands the circle of migration and displacement, due to intervention of regional and international powers that seek to share their areas of influence in our country and resolve their conflicts at the expense of our homeland.
The tragedy of the Syrian people began with the language of violence adopted by the regime and the military security solution that was followed at the beginning , deepened with the emergence of jihadist factions that Turkey and other parties supported intentionally, increasing the conflict, continuing the war, closing the language of dialogue and the stagnation of international solutions that were ineffective prescriptions to impose a resolution for the solution.
The powers affiliated with the slogans of democracy and national approach bear the abortion of the project of democratic national revolution, in the absence of vision, lack of unity, their alliance with religious reactionary powers and marketing its chauvinistic sectarian rhetoric, so they became
a failed opposition that presented its interests over the interests of their people and they were a cheap tool for regional and international projects.
The endeavor of the Syrian regime was not better, as it pledged the Syrian policy to regional and international powers, and the concept of sovereignty lost its value by following the Syrian decision for agendas that drew their interests at the expense of the people and the Syrian state. In de-escalation agreements, the regime seemed victorious in locations it received from armed opponents, but by moving them to Idlib and their participation in the occupation of Afrin, Ras al-Ain / Sri Kaneya /and Tal Abyad with silence or consent from the regime and its supporters, Turkey’s fork was strengthening and controlling the tracks through agreements with controlling countries to impose its control on North Syrian and establishment of a canton that serves its project of ” Milli Charter” to tighten its control over future paths.
Turkey made from the fighters and the needy who sought refuge in it an army that serves its agendas and they became mercenaries who linked their dreams, their fate, their money and their deeds to Turkish project, enlisting in its service.
Turkey’s role in deflecting the course of the revolution is not hidden, but it has expanded further in its ambition and sabotage due to Astana path that gave it hope to control the entire north Syrian. In Idlib, it tries to establish a military base to control the rest areas . The regime attempt with military force to control iternational highways did not work. With more confusion, we lose our Syrian youth, our weapon which is from the blood of the people, without benefiting help from the powers supporting the regime. The fierce Turkish attack and escalation is aiming at imposing its agendas on any Syrian solution, it invokes Adana agreement to exercise its aggression. This requires exiting from this agreement and withdrawing from it, and considering Turkish intervention as aggression and interference in borders of Syrian state, that requires a position from Security Council to stop this aggression and convicting it .
The Syrian regime is responsible for continuation of this tragedy, it must bear the necessary responsibilities for a solution in Syria, a balanced and reasonable solution must be taken, in which, democratic and national opposition powers take the initiative, and work to restore its organization, to continue its public struggle, to strive towards the unity of its decision, to organize its efforts at home, in light of stopping interfering, security bullying and real political openness. This requires sincere intentions, fateful decisions, and capable wills. The Syrian Democratic Council, the Syrian Democratic Forces, and Self- Administration for North and East Syria can be the holder of this beginning, whether in the face of Turkish aggression or liberation of the occupied lands or in building and reconstructing Syrian state.
