An elite of politicians and intellectuals in Al-Hasakah commemorates the anniversary of launch of the Syrian Revolution

An elite of politicians and intellectuals in Al-Hasakah commemorated the anniversary of launch of the Syrian Revolution today by emphasizing the importance of continuing collective struggle and pursuing dialogue among Syrian factions to achieve the demands of democratic change in the country.

The seminar was held at the Syrian Democratic Council center in the city of Al-Hasakah, northeastern Syria, under the slogan “The Syrian Revolution and the Democratic Transition”, where Janda Muhammed, a member of the Executive Body of the Syrian Democratic Council, spoke about the difficulty of the current stage in Syria and the region, and the importance of the participation of all sectors of the Syrian people in a comprehensive resolution to end the current crisis and establish foundations that limit foreign interventions in Syrian territories.

Muhammed also highlighted the need for concerted efforts to achieve a democratic resolution that guarantees the rights of all Syrians.

As Dr. Ahmad Al-Batah, the Secretary-General of the Syrian Popular Initiative Party, emphasized in his participation that there is a need to unify efforts and frame them towards democratic change pointing to the importance of developing and generalization the project of the Autonomous Administration which embodies the demands of a wide spectrum of Syrians who have protested for more than a decade.

Sheikh Ali Hamad Al-Asaad, the sheikh of the southern Al-Hasakah region, rejected all forms of division that some regional and international powers are seeking, emphasizing the Syrian people’s ability to stand against these projects through their unity and adherence to their territories.

In a related context, Muhammed Basheer, a member of the intellectuals in the Al-Jazeera region, pointed out the role that intellectuals can play in supporting the Syrian revolution and how all institutions in the region can come together against all regional and international political and military powers trying to undermine the project and demands of the Syrian people who call for freedom and democratic change.

The attendees also called for the need to intensify such seminars to empower all activities and institutions to follow the right path towards democratic change and to support the people’s demands, which they have sacrificed for at all levels in all areas of Syria.
