SDC’s Co-chairwoman receives a delegation of the Yazidi Union of Syria

The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), led by Layla Qaraman, Co-chairwoman of the SDC, received on Saturday a delegation of the Yazidi Union of Syria coming from Europe, along with other members of the Yazidi House in northeastern Syria, at the SDC’s office in Qamishli city.

The delegation addressed the suffering of the Yazidi community and its deprivation of legitimate basic rights, emphasizing the importance of representing Yazidis in the SDC and their participating in activities in accordance with a democratic regime.

Meanwhile, Qaraman underscored the SDC’s commitment to the participation of all Syrian components, with their various sects, religions, and ethnicities, in the SDC’s structure and decision-making.

The meeting focused on the necessity of protecting civil peace and enhancing coexistence among the various components of the Syrian society to embody its national unity.

At the end of the meeting, both sides emphasized that the unity of the Syrian components is the only way to overcome the various political problems and crises facing the region.
